The Cubs finished just two games in front of Milwaukee and will open the NLDS against Arizona on Wednesday. While the team has been wildly inconsistent this year, Alfonso Soriano has been steadily hot in September, hitting 14 homers and setting a new club record for the month. If he can keep up the pace and Zambrano is finally over his contract hangover, perhaps all the money Chicago spent this year will be worth it and will bring some happiness to a city reeling from the damage inflicted by the deadly Sex Cannon.
